It's been a while since my last post... Sorry about that. I have a good friend who blogs and I get mad if she goes a week without posting, let alone months! Haha! I'll try to get better... So, a lot has been going on around here since my last post. I don't even remember where I left off! Lets see... I graduated in December from WSU with a BS degree in Psychology. I decided to hold off on Graduate school and work a while, which I think was a good idea. It will however, be hard to go back when the time comes. Since Graduation, I have been working up at OHSU as a project coordinator. It's an okay job, but not something I want to spend the rest of my life doing... In fact, starting next month, I am going to be going down to part time (possible only 2 days a week). My boss wanted me to sign a 2 year contract and I wasn't prepared to do that. She's going to be hiring someone full time who will be able to make that kind of commitment... I think she'll have a hard time finding someone who can. Meanwhile, I'll be looking for another job up here. Fighting that traffic everyday is NOT fun and it makes an 8 hour day, about an 11 hour day.
Things have been going fine around here. It's about time too, after an eventful winter filled with 1) a tornado hitting our house 2) my dog getting cancer and needing an operation and 3) a miscarriage. Needless to say, it was time for things to finally be going well around here. They say bad things happen in 3s, and in this case, that was the truth. Too bad ALL 3 of those things were MAJOR and heartbreaking. I will say however, that I have learned a lot through those experiences and it's amazing what you learn when so many horrible things happen, that are totally out of your control.
This weekend is mine and Justin's 5 year anniversary!!!! I can't believe it's been 5 years!! In some ways, it feels like we were just married yesterday, but in many, it feels as if we've been married a lifetime!! A lot has changed since the day we were married.. Our first year of marriage was EXTREMELY tough, as we had many adjustments to make swinging from dating into married life. Anyone who said that first year is the best, is a BIG liar in my opinion!! Throughout the years, we have truly become best friends and I have come to appreciate and respect him more than ever. He is such a hard worker, currently working 2 jobs. One of his positions, it at a non-prophet organization called Carpenters Garage. The other, he is working as an Instructional Technician at Clark College. That job has been a true blessing to him, as it may possibly be opening more doors in the very near future, for a GREAT full time job at Clark College as an Instructor for the Automotive program. What a great job!! He would be working 9 months out of the year, making more than what he's making now and have EXCELLENT benefits! We'll see what happens though, we don't want to get our hopes up. We are just leaving it all in God's hands as we know he has a plan and he will place Justin wherever he needs to be. I will VERY proud of him either way.
We just recently got our FIRST "toy." We bought a jet ski and we will be going camping this weekend and taking it out for the first time!! Justin's parents own a spot up at Lake Merwin's Campers Hideaway. It's right on Lake Merwin, so it will be a beautiful and VERY fun way to spend our anniversary.
Well, I better be going now, I have a lot of shopping and packing to do this afternoon in preparation for our trip! Hope this is finding you all well!! I promise to write sooner next time!! If I can ever figure out how to post pictures on this thing, my next post will include pictures of us this weekend, on our new toy! Those should be very entertaining. :)
