Crazy month of December!!!

Hey all! I am sorry it has been so long since I've blogged. The month of December (as I'm sure it has for many of you) has been IN SANE!! It has been a month with a lot of new beginnings and ends. December started off, by taking a trip over to Pullman, WA to GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE!!!!! My mother in-law, father in-law, mom, and Justin (as well as myself) rented a car and road tripped it for the day. It was about a 7 hour drive and when we got there, we checked into the Hotel and then went to this restaurant in Moscow, called Sangria. It was soooo yummy, I'd say pretty close to the best food I've ever eaten.. After that, my dad got to the motel, with his wife and my grandma, and I went over to Applebees with them and got a drink. While we were there, my sister, Shannon and her husband got into town from Santa Barbara and joined us. It was so great to see everyone and I was so grateful that everyone came all that way for my big day. At that point, we went back to the Hotel and went to bed. We woke up early on Saturday (Dec. 10th) and got ready for Graduation! The ceremony was very well done and there was a total of about 1500 graduates. I was actually pretty surprised that there was that many, because Winter semester is typically not a popular time to graduate! After the ceremony, we went to this calezone restaurant and ate, and then Justin, Shannon, Michael (Shannon's husband) and my mom drove around and went to this really cute little coffee shop downtown Pullman. For dinner that night, we all went to a restaurant called Swilly's, which also had AMAZING food! There, I opened my graduation presents and we had cake. I got some great presents that included a watch, necklace, money, and a certificate for a manicure, pedicure, and a message! The next day, we headed back to Vancouver and ended that chapter in my life. School (especially at WSUV) was such a great experience, that I still have mixed emotions about graduating. It kind of feels like leaving a job that you LOVE....
After I finished school, it was onto looking for a job to pay back those WONDERFUL school loans! I swear, I must have applied to 40 different jobs, some in my field and some not. I went to a couple interviews, but didn't feel right about any of them. Finally, I got a call from a job that I REALLY wanted. It was at OHSU in Portland, as a research assistant for a neuro-psychologist. Anyways, I went and interviewed and instantly felt good about the position. About 2 days later, she called and offered me the job! I was so excited about it and I am praying that it works out well! The only down-side, is the commute, but I can deal with that. :)
Next on the list was Christmas shopping, and traveling down to California for the holiday. Justin and I went to Santa Barbara, CA on Dec. 22nd and stayed at my sister's place that night and the night of the 23rd. We went to a Christmas party at an AMAZING home (had to be well over 4 million dollars), but to be honest, I was somewhat disappointed. Not with the home, but more with the company. To be more specific, the owner of the home was not humble AT ALL about what she had. She had to show us how "rare" the items were in her home and how "expensive" other things were. I don't mind people who have nice homes and nice things, but it was the attitude she had that I didn't appreciate too much. Besides that, we had a great trip! It was about 70 degrees and it was so great seeing my sister and other family on my mom's side. We spent Christmas day down in Orange County and there was about 35 people at my Aunt's house. It was really great! Justin and I flew back into town yesterday evening and I started my new job today!
Needless to say, I haven't had a lot of time for blogging, but now that I don't have to worry about school anymore (for the moment) I hope to stay caught up more. Hope you all had a very wonderful Christmas and that this is finding you all well! Good night!

New one!

Hey there everyone! I'm sorry I'm so lame about blogging. I need to get better at it because not only does it keep everybody updated on our lives, it's also a stress reliever to write; which I need right now.
Things are well here, there are just some situations going on that are causing some stress. Nothing bad, just changes....especially on my end.... Well, I won't keep you in suspense any longer. I found out this week that I have an interview for Lewis and Clark's Counseling/Marriage and Family program. This is GREAT news as the people who get interviews are considered to be "qualified applicants." I have NO clue what to expect during the interview, so all I can do is wonder until then; which makes it very hard to get prepared for something like this. All I know, is that they do a group interview, and then they do individual interviews after that. I have a Professor, well he's more of a mentor I guess that is willing to meet with me before the interview to give me some tips and tell me what NOT to say, which I greatly appreciate. Though he's not totally familliar with Lewis and Clark's criteria, he has a good idea about what they might be looking for.
There are other emotions involved with this interview as well.... They are happy and sad emotions. I never thought I would ever say this in a million years, but well, I am really really sad to be graduating. Is that wierd???? I mean, I don't know of anyone who has been sad to graduate. One would think that after being in school this long, I would want to move forward and start new experiences, which don't get me wrong, I do!! I have just had the BEST experiences at WSU and have made great friends and have established great relationships with my Professors. I guess that's what makes it so hard to leave; not because I am not ready to move forward, but I am not ready to leave what I have at WSU either..... Anyways, please pray for me on November 7th, as that is the day of the interview.
Aside from that, things are pretty normal around here. Justin's sister will be having her baby on monday (if not before) and so that's exciting for everyone! She's having a little girl, named Isabelle. Some sad news, is that my friend, Cathy is moving to Phoenix on monday. We used to work together at the vet clinic and have become good friends. She will be greatly missed! Justin's work situation is still about the same, so there is not a lot to report there. Please keep praying for that as well!
I think that's all for now! I'll write when I have updates for you! Hope this finds you all safe and well!

Sorry! Life's been CRAZY!!!

So, it's been a couple of weeks since I've blogged. Sorry about that. I think this morning is the first morning I've been able to actually sit down relax. In all honesty, I shouldn't even be sitting now, I should be studying for an exam that I have this afternoon.
To be honest, I'm starting to feel isolated from everyone, and I know I've done it to myself! Everyone has been so good and patient with my schedule, but I'm starting to lose it! It's difficult when I can never make it to any activities because I am always so busy! To clarify, I have always been busy, but this is IN SANE! I just keep thinking, this is my last semester and only a couple more months to go!
I haven't heard back from Lewis and Clark yet. I don't plan on hearing back until the middle of November, as the application deadline isn't even until October 1st. Being the spaz I am, I turned it in 2 weeks ago thinking it would look good if I had it in early! I'll keep everyone posted on that one. I was taking with my group last night (a group of friends from church) and was telling them that at this point, I've done everything I can when it comes to grad school and all I can do now is to wait and trust God with whatever comes next. It makes me feel better and more at ease to think of it that way.
Justin and Chloe are doing well. This is Chloe's favorite time of year because all the squirrels are getting ready to hibernate and they are running around the back yard. She will stare out the window and twitch because she wants to go chase them. She's a freak, but we love her anyways.
Justin's job is going better as well. Without going into too much detail, some things have been changing around the shop for the better and he has been in a MUCH better mood lately. Keep praying though!

Well, I should get to studying but I just wanted to post really quick. Hope all is well with everyone!

Labor Day

Okay, I'm still trying to figure this blog thing out and I'm working on posting pictures on my posts. Let's just say, I haven't figured it out yet, so we'll just have to live with my stories for now...

So, Justin and I had a very fun Labor Day weekend. Let's see, on Saturday, I worked and Justin worked on a friend's car, so that day wasn't so much fun. On Sunday, Justin and I went (with Justin's mom Barb and his dad Chuck) to my mom's boyfriend's house. His name is Jeff (is this making any sense)???? Anyways, Jeff lives out in Estacada and we had a BBQ. I'm not a salmon fan at all, but let me tell you guys, that guy can BBQ some mean salmon!!! He put this marinade over the top called "Jamaca Mistake" and it made it so good! I was shocked! We also grilled hamburgers and had a bunch of other food that we all brought over. After that, we all walked down to the lake (a dammed up area of the Clackamas river that they consider a lake I guess) and hiked on some trails. It was a really great time....well...except for the fact that my mom had fallen the day before on roller skates and fractured her wrist and possible her tail bone. I felt so bad for her! Her arm was all wrapped up and in a sling. I guess they have to keep it that way until the swelling goes down and then they can cast it. I guess she's in quite a bit of pain, and her pain meds make her feel sick.. No fun... She was a trooper though and hung in there!
Monday, Justin and I went to Cannon Beach. That was a GREAT trip! It was beautiful there all day and we took Chloe. She loves to run on the sand and get her feet wet in the ocean! She's the most funny dog I think I've ever met. We had to keep her on a leash though because it was VERY crowded on the beach! It took us over 2 1/2 hours to get home because there was so many people coming home at that time too and traffic was horrible!! It was okay though. We had a great time anyways and we were sad to see Tuesday come.
I think that's about all for now. I swear I'm going to get the posting pictures thing figured out and then you can see the pictures as you are reading my stories!

I've been tagged (thanks a lot Rachel) :-)

The Rules:1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.3. People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (If you don’t have a blog, email me or put it on my-space)4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.Ok...here goes...
1) I LOVE wearing my PJ pants. I could wear them anytime, anywhere if I could get away with it.
2) I'm obsessed with reading other people's blogs! I do it on at least a daily basis (if not more).
3) I LOVE my feet rubbed. Justin is so wonderful and rubs my feet a LOT.
4) I can't watch my soap opera's any more and I am really bummed. Passions is moving to Direct TV only and I have classes during Days. I'm kind of glad though. I admit that they are a waste of valuable time.
5) I love spending time with my friends and family, though I don't do it NEAR enough. Sorry about that..
6) I'm really enjoying school this semester (so far) and I have to admit that I'm getting a little emotional about leaving WSU in December.
7) I have a club membership and haven't been for probably 3 months. Oops!
8) Last one..... Hmmm, I want to take a trip after I graduate to either Europe or Hawaii.. Now I just have to talk Justin into taking me..

Okay, that's all folks! I'm tagging Emily, Cathy, Ashley, Jenn, Marissa, Crystal, Bonnie, and Jim.

First one

So, I decided to start a blog. I thought this would be a good idea because it would be a good way to keep friends and family updated on what's going on in our lives. Our lives are so CRAZY right now that unfortunately, I feel I have to do a blog to keep everyone posted!!
So, for those of you who may not know, I am in my last semester at Washington State University right now. I just started school up again on the 20th and it's going to be a "full" semester to put it mildly. I am also in the process of applying for Graduate school!!! I can't believe the time has actually come! I'm currently only applying to one (marriage and family therapy program at Lewis and Clark), but depending on how that works out, I'll apply to more for next fall. I also recently started an internship at Innovative Services NW as a respite care provider. This means, I basically spend time with a couple of kids assigned to me that are currently in Therapy. It's a good job/internship and I can honestly say that it's good experience (and looks good on a grad school application).
Hmmm, what else?? Justin's doing fine.. We're actually in a fight right now, so I don't really want to talk about him. :-) He's so stressed right now. He's been applying for a couple new jobs that I know he wants so bad. Please pray for him and the whole "job" situation. I don't want to go into too much detail, but let's just say, it needs prayer.....
Well, not much else to update for now. Chloe (our dog) is having withdrawals. We recently watched my sister's rottweiler for a month while she and her husband were in Italy (must be rough). Anyways, Chloe LOVES him and misses him like crazy.
Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the rest of your summer! I'll write again soon and post some pictures sometime as well!
